Our History

St. James Church Mutwal - A Story of Faith

St. James Church Mutwal was built in 1872, standing as a testament to the enduring faith of the Catholic community in Mutwal. While some sources suggest an earlier founding in 1853, the current building dates back to 1872. The church was constructed with the dedication and devotion of the Mutwal fisher folk, and it has since been a spiritual home for generations of families.

For over a century, our church has witnessed countless baptisms, weddings, and other sacred ceremonies, standing strong as a symbol of hope and resilience through challenging times.

Today, St. James Church continues to serve as a vibrant center of worship, community service, and spiritual growth. We welcome all who seek to deepen their relationship with God and join our community of faith.
